About simi

Professional Tutor | Architecture Graduate | Illustrator

Simi is an experienced tutor and the founder of OAF Academy, with over three years of professional tutoring experience. She holds a degree in Architecture with honors from New York Institute of Technology and is currently working in the architecture and construction field.

Simi is well-versed in a range of academic curriculums including Common Core, NYS Common Core, and Cambridge. She specializes in tutoring students in Math from elementary through 9th grade, and also tutors design and architecture tools such as Rhino, Enscape, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Simi works with both K–9 students and architecture/design students, and is highly skilled in executive functioning coaching for learners of all ages.

As a dedicated member of the Association for the Coaching and Tutoring Profession (ACTP), the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), Simi is committed to leadership, academic excellence, and personal growth.

Through OAF Academy, Simi aims to make high-quality, personalized tutoring both accessible and affordable to students nationwide. Her passion for education and unwavering commitment to her students continue to inspire consistent positive feedback from both learners and their families.

MY STORY

MY WHY ?

When I was younger, Math and Science were the subjects that made me feel the most isolated. Classmates would laugh at my mistakes, and even teachers seemed to believe I couldn’t keep up. There were days I felt defeated, like I just wasn’t "smart enough." Eventually, I started believing that maybe they were right. But over time, I realized something: I wasn’t incapable—I just learned differently.

Once I understood that it was okay to take a little longer or approach problems from a different angle, everything changed. I became determined to master the very subjects that used to intimidate me. And now, my mission is to help others see that they can do the same.

I know what it feels like to be told you're not enough, especially in Math and Science. Today, I teach because I want to be the person I wish I had back then—the one who says, “You can do this, and I’m going to help you get there.” Everyone deserves a chance to see their potential, and I’m here to make sure that happens for anyone who feels lost or overwhelmed in these subjects.

No one should ever feel like they don’t belong in Math and Science, and I’m here to show you that you do. You are more capable than you think, and I’m excited to help you discover that for yourself.
